"Seva" is a Sanskrit word that means "selfless service". It means work or practice performed without requiring any form of repayment or reward and is thought to both enhance spiritual growth and contribute to the overall improvement of a community.
At The Woven Path, we believe that cultivating seva is crucial to developing an authentic and meaningful yoga practice. Because of this, and our firm belief that yoga should be made available to everyone regardless of financial ability, The Woven Path offers two Community Yoga classes every week:
Community Yoga classes are donation based. While we suggest a $5 donation, we encourage you to contribute whatever you can. Nobody is ever turned away.

In an effort to give back to our community, one hundred percent of the donations collected during our Wednesday Community Yoga classes at Woodlawn Movement and Healing Arts go towards a different non-profit each month.
For the month of January, all donations will go to the West Women's and Children's Shelter. We suggest a $5 dollar donation per class, and for this particular nonprofit we are also accepting non-monetary donations. Items needed include: paper towels, toilet paper, bus tickets, trash bags (30 gal and tall kitchen), ziplock bags, clothing (women's, children's and infant), toys, school supplies, diapers, blankets, coats. |
Is there a non-profit close to your heart? Let us know!If you know of or work with a local non-profit and would like to be a recipient of our Community Yoga donations, contact Avery Lewis at [email protected].
